Educating orphans & the disadvantaged in Kenya

It's hard to believe that the Girls' Dormitory has been open for almost four years. Many of you helped us build it from the ground up and we wanted to share just some of the impact your support has had.

When we first launched the project we simply wanted to provide a safe and stable home for girls who needed one. Looking back now it's clear that the dormitory has become so much more than just a building.

The first girls to move in are now thriving in secondary school and it has been wonderful to watch them grow. Having a safe place to live, study and just enjoy being children has helped them develop confidence, independence and resilience in ways we could only have hoped for.

Nyambura is a great example. Her class teacher was so impressed by her confidence and determination that she contacted us to find out more about her background. Nyambura has since been appointed Chess Patron at her school.

Kawira recently won a place at an international school after competing against a large number of applicants. Her confidence and maturity during the interview helped her stand out and secure a place.

Muthoni and Nyawira continue to outperform on the netball court. Their talent earned them places at their current school where they now play important roles within the team and are recognised for their leadership and teamwork.

Seeing these girls flourish reminds us why the dormitory matters so much. What you helped create is more than a place to sleep. It is a home where girls feel safe, cared for and supported, giving them the stability they need to focus on their education and believe in their own potential.

Thank you for believing in this project and helping to make it a reality. Four years on, we are still seeing the difference your generosity is making in the lives of these young women every single day.
