Hello everyone!
We hope you are doing well!
We want you to know how well we are doing here at EcoEnergy Finance! As we have mentioned before EcoEnergyFinance is a social enterprise that brings low cost solar energy to the rural working poor in Pakistan. By selling the solar products as a social enterprise instead of giving them away, we still hope to become sustainable by mid-2015, leveraging your donations into a movement that continues to tackle energy poverty for decades.
A quick update:
We have been selling our lanterns at an alarming rate! We have recently implemented a pay as you go system that allows customers to pay in monthly installments. This has been met with high demand for our products. We have increased our customer base but have had some minor issues in specific regions with the collection of funds. We are working to fix our collection system and hope to change this once we start to offer a new high tech system that allows us to remotely shut down the system if we do not obtain payment. We are currently waiting for our first shipment of these pay as you go systems and hope to have them out for sale within the next quarter.
Meanwhile, in the US, we were chosen by the University of Maryland and their Center for Social Value Creation to act as a centerpiece organization for a class and study on social enterprise business analysis. The master’s program students, along with guidance from EcoEnergy Finance, produced a number of reports for our firm to utilize regarding cost structure, sales and marketing, inventory management, and compensation structure. We were delighted with the findings and intend to implement a number of suggestions to improve our business process.
Finally, we have recently been awarded a sizeable grant by one of the largest nonprofit scientific and educational institutions in the world. There will be more to come and please keep an eye out for our upcoming press release!
All of this was possible because of your philanthropic donation, which enabled us to purchase the lanterns in the first place and gain recognition by various local and global organizations. Thank you!
