Kebbi State has a population of over three million people, of which about sixty percent are young people, unemployed and do not have access to opportunities that creates employment. Conducting a baseline survey in order to ascertain & document best practices on youth entrepreneurial skills and enterprise development strategies Select and train 500 youth (based on equality between male & female) on entrepreneurial skills/enterprise development Providing revolving micro-credit start-up capital to the trained youth and also register their businesses with the authority, and Launching an "Endowment Fund" aimed at supporting the project as a sustainability measure.
The project will develop a crop of 500 young entrepreneurs who will also be expected to establish or improve their businesses as well as serve as mentors and employers to other young people.
