This project will provide incubators for premature babies in hospitals and health facilities across Ghana to improve newborn survival and critical care. Many healthcare facilities lack enough neonatal equipment to care for premature and low birth weight babies, putting vulnerable newborns at serious risk. This project will help provide life-saving support for newborns who require specialized care during their earliest and most fragile stages of life.
Premature birth is a major cause of newborn deaths in Ghana, especially in underserved and low-resource communities. Many hospitals do not have adequate incubators or neonatal care equipment to regulate temperature, monitor vital signs, and support the survival of premature infants. Limited access to specialized newborn care contributes to preventable infant mortality and long-term health complications.
This project will supply incubators and essential neonatal care equipment to hospitals and rural health facilities in Ghana. It will also support healthcare workers with training on neonatal intensive care and proper use of the equipment to ensure effective and sustainable care for premature babies.
The project will improve survival rates for premature and low birth weight babies, strengthen neonatal healthcare services, and reduce infant mortality in Ghana. Families will benefit from better access to life-saving newborn care, while healthcare facilities will be better equipped to manage critical neonatal cases. Over time, this project will contribute to healthier childhood development and stronger maternal and child healthcare systems.
