We are seeking urgent funding to continue supporting HIV treatment, care, and prevention programs in Uganda. The recent closure of USAID-funded programs has left millions of Ugandans without access to essential HIV services, resulting in a critical gap in care. Our program will provide uninterrupted HIV treatment, care, and prevention services to over 10,000 vulnerable individuals in Mpigi and Wakiso districts.
The USAID funding cuts have had a devastating impact on HIV programs in Uganda. Health facilities that relied on USAID funding have been left helpless, with health workers laid off and HIV-related programs closed down. This has resulted in: Disruption of HIV treatment and care services Increased risk of HIV transmission and AIDS-related deaths Reduced access to prevention and testing services Increased stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV
Our program is providing the following services: HIV treatment and care for over 10,000 vulnerable individuals Prevention and testing services for high-risk populations Community-based support groups for people living with HIV Capacity building for health workers and community health volunteers
We aim to achieve the following long-term impact:- Improved health outcomes for people living with HIV Reduced HIV transmission and AIDS-related deaths Increased access to prevention and testing services- Strengthened community-based systems for HIV care and support
