This project will provide free heart surgeries for 200 children in Ghana suffering from life-threatening heart conditions. Many children born with congenital or acquired heart diseases are unable to receive treatment because their families cannot afford the high cost of surgery. Without urgent medical intervention, these children face severe health complications or death.
Heart disease among children is a serious but often overlooked health challenge in Ghana. Many families cannot afford the expensive surgeries, diagnostic tests, medications, and follow-up care needed to treat congenital heart defects and other cardiac conditions. Limited access to pediatric cardiac services means that many children go untreated, leading to preventable suffering and loss of life.
This project will partner with hospitals and cardiac specialists to provide free heart surgeries, medical evaluations, diagnostic testing, hospitalization, and post-surgery care for 200 children. It will also support early identification and referral of children with serious heart conditions to improve treatment outcomes.
The project will save lives, improve long-term health outcomes, and give children the opportunity to grow and live healthier lives. Families will experience reduced emotional and financial burdens, while communities will benefit from stronger pediatric healthcare support. Over time, this project will help increase awareness and access to specialized cardiac care in Ghana.
