1. Project Background and Rationale
Ongoing armed conflicts in North Kivu Province have forced thousands of families to flee to Mugunga and Ngangi villages. These communities are currently living in extremely difficult conditions, with very limited access to clean and safe drinking water.
The lack of potable water exposes more than 25,000 people to serious waterborne diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid. Even more concerning, the long and unsafe routes used to collect water expose women and children to significant risks, including sexual violence. In this context, access to water is not merely a basic service—it is a matter of survival, dignity, and protection.
2. Overall Project Objective
To sustainably improve the living conditions of displaced populations in Mugunga and Ngangi by installing a secure, reliable, and sustainable clean water well.
3. Specific Objectives
4. Beneficiaries
5. Key Planned Activities
The project is scheduled to begin in November 2025, following the completion of identification and community preparation phases.
6. Project Budget
This strategic partnership strengthens our international visibility and fundraising capacity. With continued donor support, we are confident that the funding target will be reached.
7. Expected Results and Impact
8. Project Sustainability
The project is built on strong community involvement. Local water management committees will be trained to ensure maintenance and long-term functionality of the well, guaranteeing sustainable access to water well beyond the project’s lifespan.
9. Call to Donors
Every contribution—no matter the amount—brings a family closer to clean water, better health, and safety. Supporting this project means saving lives, protecting women, and restoring hope to an entire community.
We warmly invite all partners, donors, and people of goodwill to support this high-impact humanitarian initiative.
10. Acknowledgements
We extend our sincere gratitude to all donors and to GlobalGiving for their trust and commitment. Thanks to your solidarity, hope is being restored in Mugunga and Ngangi.
Together, we can provide water, dignity, and life.
