This project will provide bicycles to 200 students in rural Ghana to help them travel safely and quickly to school. Many students walk long distances each day, which leads to fatigue, lateness, and absenteeism. By providing bicycles, the project will improve school attendance, reduce travel time, and support better learning outcomes.
In many rural communities in Ghana, students travel long distances-often several kilometers-to reach school. This daily journey is tiring, time-consuming, and sometimes unsafe. As a result, many students arrive late, miss classes, or drop out entirely. Girls are especially affected due to safety concerns and household responsibilities. Lack of reliable transportation is a major barrier to consistent school attendance.
This project will provide 200 durable bicycles to students in selected rural communities. Beneficiaries will be identified based on need and distance from school. The project will also include basic bicycle safety training and simple maintenance guidance to ensure long-term use. By reducing travel time and effort, students will be able to attend school regularly and participate fully in their education.
Providing bicycles will improve school attendance, punctuality, and academic performance among rural students. It will reduce dropout rates and increase access to education, especially for girls. Over time, this will contribute to better educational outcomes, improved livelihoods, and stronger communities. Students will gain more time and energy to focus on learning and personal development.
