Market women are the backbone of local economies but often lack access to basic healthcare due to long working hours, low income, and limited services. This project will provide basic health screenings for 1,200 market women, helping to detect common health conditions early and improve overall wellbeing.
Many market women rarely receive preventive healthcare. Conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, and infections often go undiagnosed until they become serious. Without regular health checks, women may suffer avoidable illness, reduced productivity, and financial hardship from medical emergencies.
The project will organize outreach health clinics in major markets to provide free basic health checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, temperature, and general consultations. Trained health workers will offer immediate guidance, referrals to nearby health facilities when needed, and simple health education to help women manage and prevent common conditions.
Early detection and awareness will help market women manage their health before conditions worsen, reducing medical emergencies and healthcare costs. Healthier women will be more productive, better able to support their families, and more informed about preventive healthcare practices in their communities.
