Luna, a 9-month-old girl, who was admitted to CRAN with a diagnosis of pneumonia, has presented health relapses due to her history, which have reached hospitalization and isolation due to influenza, also guaranteeing 24-hour adult supervision. Medications in the hospital environment for respiratory peaks in boys and girls have been exhausted, and the CRAN Foundation has mobilized sectors and services to achieve them in a particular way, regardless of the value to achieve the recovery of the girl . Today the girl is maintained with the use of oxygen and medications that support her progressive recovery, as well as respiratory therapy 3 times a week.

Thank you for helping us make everything come true and being able to continue helping our children!

Juan Carlos, 9 years and 4 months old, has been at the CRAN foundation for 1 year and 2 months. Since his admission, challenges were detected at a cognitive and adaptive level; due to situations of family neglect, as a result of which there was not a timely response to the global stimulation needs required by the child from an early age, as well as instability in school ties due to transit through the protection system 3 times and poor performance school with little progress at the academic level. Given the above, the child presents school age and a cognitive deficit. Therefore, through the medical service, a comprehensive therapy process was started that includes psychopedagogy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychology from July 26, 2021 to date, with a frequency of 3 times a week, in sessions of 4 hours each, to promote global development and meet the child's maximum performance potential. From this process, Juan Carlos has made important progress at a comprehensive level in his development, his cognitive deficit scored from moderate to mild, and this shows great support for his admission conditions from the health procedures.

Maria, an extraordinary fighter

Maria entered the protection program due to abuse and neglect from birth by her biological family. At only three years and five months old, this little girl has faced different health problems, such as acute malnutrition, an alteration in head circumference, a risk condition for her neurodevelopment, as well as Turner syndrome.

Maria came to us thanks to the adoption assessment strategy that is responsible for finding children in difficult adoption conditions throughout the country, and then prepare them for the adoption process, providing the necessary care while a family is found. In CRAN we seek that all children have the opportunity to be loved by a family that provides them with all the tools for their healthy development and growth.

This little fighter, was declared in adoptability condition, so she was transferred to CRAN Foundation on February 12, 2021. Due to her health condition, Maria has needed the attention of different specialists, neuropediatrics, neuropsychology, genetics, in addition to comprehensive therapies. Maria comes from another region and her access to health services due to the transfer between regions has been hindered by legal issues, added to this the contingency for Covid 19, in addition to the public order problems that have been occurring in the country; Maria's health condition could not wait, so the Foundation resorted to private specialists to meet the special needs of Maria in a timely manner.

Upon her arrival at CRAN, Maria found a different, loving and caring environment, with green areas, parks and play spaces that have contributed to her adequate adaptation and improvement in her level of development. After these advances, CRAN Foundation finally found a family that is willing to love and care for her, so Maria will have a second chance with loving and responsible parents.

It is thanks to the support of our donors that CRAN is able to offer Maria and other children the health care they need while they regain the right to have a family that will love and care for them forever.

Due to the pandemic that has affected the entire world, the health sector has been in a difficult situation as it has focused on solving Covid-19 related care needs. The subsidy system that covers children's health issues has had several restrictions so that urgent procedures are not a priority and dental and audiometry appointments are not available.

Thanks to the support and generosity of everyone, we have been able to guarantee priority and urgent attention by a dentist, who to date has attended 27 cases of children who come to CRAN with serious hygiene and oral health issues.
Most of the children, who come from Venezuela, arrive with oral health complications where many of them lose their teeth due to lack of hygiene which causes gingivitis and even more serious difficulties.

Your solidarity has allowed 35 children to take their audiometry exams and controls, which, like dentistry, was not possible to obtain through the subsidized network. Likewise, we were able to take the children directly to the specialists and we were able to give them the examinations and medicines they were prescribed.

Medical evaluations and examinations are also fundamental in the development process of our children. Precisely determining their health status is key to finding the best adoptive family that can guarantee their care. The assistance and follow-up of health treatments are possible thanks to the fact that there is always a caregiver available to accompany them in safe transportation.

Thank you very much!

¡Muchas gracias!
