Summary

Ghana's parliament passed a bill in February 2024 that further criminalizes LGBTQI+ people. This new bill, which punishes people for affirming their LGBTQI+ identity, puts the community at greater risk, and will intensify the violence and persecution they face. This legislation not only violates fundamental human rights principles but also undermines the values of equality, dignity, and respect for all individuals, We stand in solidarity with our LGBTQI+ community in Ghana who need your support.
