Amina fled armed violence in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after surviving brutal abuse. Like thousands of women and girls, she lost her home, safety, and hope. This project will help 500 women and girls through psychosocial counseling, legal aid, emergency protection, safe spaces, livelihood training, and community awareness. Your support helps survivors heal, rebuild their lives, and protect 2,500 family members from the cycle of violence.
In eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, conflict, displacement, and poverty continue to expose women and girls to gender-based violence, sexual violence, domestic abuse, exploitation, and trauma. Many survivors have nowhere to seek protection, counseling, or justice. Without support, they remain trapped in fear, poverty, and isolation, while violence continues to devastate families and entire communities.
This project provides 500 women and girls with trauma counseling, legal assistance, emergency protection, women's safe spaces, and livelihood training to restore dignity and independence. Community awareness campaigns will engage families and local leaders to prevent gender-based violence, strengthen protection, and create safer communities where survivors can heal, earn an income, and rebuild their future.
Women who recover from violence become stronger caregivers, earn sustainable incomes, and help protect future generations. This project will directly support 500 women and girls while benefiting 2,500 family and community members. By reducing gender-based violence, strengthening local protection systems, and increasing economic resilience, communities in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo can build lasting peace and hope.
