This project will support the protection and restoration of wildlife habitats in selected communities in Ghana. Rapid land use changes, deforestation, and human activities are reducing natural habitats for wildlife. This project will work with local communities to promote conservation practices, restore degraded areas, and reduce activities that threaten biodiversity.
Wildlife habitats in Ghana are under increasing pressure due to deforestation, farming expansion, illegal logging, and human settlement growth. As natural habitats shrink, many wildlife species lose their homes, leading to declining biodiversity and ecosystem imbalance. Local communities often depend on natural resources, but lack awareness or support for sustainable conservation practices.
This project will engage communities in habitat protection activities such as tree planting, conservation education, and restoration of degraded land. Community members will be trained on sustainable land use practices that reduce harm to wildlife habitats. The project will also support awareness campaigns in schools and communities to promote environmental stewardship and biodiversity protection.
The project will help restore and protect natural habitats, improving biodiversity and strengthening ecosystems in Ghana.
