Girls and women in developped countries have easy access to proper protection for menstruation. Either they have the ressources to buy them or the local government is giving them to girls in school.
In some countries companies are also helping the women to have free access to the protection they need. Period positive workplace supports gender equality by providing period products at work. Obviously this is not the situation we face in Burkina.
Menstruation is a difficult period for girls / women. The lack of proper protection makes this period even more difficult:
- lost of self esteem
- missing school or difficulties to work
Local disposable protections available in Burkina Faso are coming from China and are of very poor quality.
Help us provide washable reusable protections to girls in school in Burkina. Their future depends in part of your help.
