Rood
Meet Rood.
He is HIV Positive and has a hole in his heart.
He is a fighter and in this world, he is loved.
We are now in our 22nd year of helping Haiti's most vulnerable. Our campus in Williamson is currently home to 128 children, 65 of whom are disabled. Our youngest child is Rood, as you will see from his picture, he is one cute little boy with a lot of attitude. Rood was abandoned at the government hospital in Port au Prince when he was just 3 months old. The IBESR (the Haiti government adoption agency) asked us to bring this angel into our family. They ask us because no other Haitian orphanage would take Rood, most likely due to his special needs.
Little Rood receives loving care from his designated "House Mommy". Our doctor carefully monitors Rood and he receives the best medical care possible. We are happy to announce that our heart specialist reports that the hole in Rood's heart has almost disappeared!
Please find it in your heart to help us fully heal the hole in Rood's heart. And not only him, but to also care for Rood's 127 brothers and sisters, living at the Mercy & Shring campus.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Children Harvesting Potatoes
HaitiChildren (formerly Mercy & Sharing) has recently expanded and increased our sustainability efforts at our 17 acre campus in Williamson, Haiti.
We currently have 3 greenhouses and an outdoor garden at the campus. In the greenhouses we grow spinach, melons, and eggplant. Outside we grow melons, potatoes, lemon trees, banana trees, and more. We harvest the fruits and vegetables with the children's help of course. Our cooks are able to incorporate the harvest into our daily meals. Our greenhouses and gardens provide a wonderful learning experience along with contributing to our sustainability.
Future sustainability plans include the installation of solar panels, rainwater catchment, chicken coops, and raising livestock.
The pictures attached are of a recent potato harvest. The kids loved picking the potatoes and especially loved eating them!

Downward Dogs
Our kids are loving the new monthly yoga classes at Mercy & Sharing Village! We have an extraordinary yoga instructor who volunteers her time to teach 29 of our children between the ages of 7-18 years old. We have a group of well-qualified professionals who have created a Yoga-Breathing-Mediation team that are working together to build and improve this program.
I recently was in Haiti and lucky enough to attend the monthly yoga classes. The younger kids are truly enjoying and having fun with the classes. They will continue to grow and learn new things as months go by. The older children have really embraced yoga and will soon be going deeper by learning more breathing and meditation techniques.
We are grateful to be able to offer this program to our children at Mercy & Sharing. With your help we are raising very well-rounded children who we believe will grow up to be the future leaders of Haiti.
Thank you for your continued support!
