This beautiful little 4 year old girl was abandoned at a Cap Haitien hospital. She was severely malnourished and actively dying when she was discovered by a caring physician by the name of Galit Sacajiu. Galit reached out to Mercy & Sharing with the following email. Of course we worked with Galit and the Cap Haiten Hospital to find a way to get Lyvia the medical help she required and are now happy to have her in her new home at Mercy & Sharing.

Subject: a place for Lyvia, an abandoned girl
Dear sir/Mdm, I wrote the email below asking Loune for availability in Zanmi Beni. She told me that they have no place but recommended that I will check if you have a place at "Mercy and Sharing":
I am writing to ask about availability to place a little girl named Lyvia in Zanmi Beni. I was in Cape Haitian 2 weeks ago and while visiting Jestinian hospital in preparation to a course we are working on with local doctors and the ministry of health, we passed by the pediatric department and saw a dying girl- she looked with severe malnutrition; but no IV or feeding were provided as she had no one to support her. As anyone else in my position, we got an IV going and started feeding. She is doing better but as she turned around the Pediatricians diagnosed her with Cerebral Palsy. Her family is not known to us, as she was left at the hospital. Any chance we can have her moved to Zanmi Beni? if not, would you have other suggestions? I will appreciate your input .
Kindly let me know if there is a chance to bring her to your merciful hands; I can probably find someone to support her. Looking forward hearing from you, galit
Galit M Sacajiu MD MPH, Medical Education Director
Dr. Sacajiu was able to visit Mercy & Sharing on May 24th and "was blown away by the village, the staff, and most of all the children- who had only love to share! and of course Lyvia, she is doing well and I am sure will continue to gain strength and push through obstacles".
Lyvia responds to touch and loves to be held. We are so glad to have this little miracle as part of our Mercy & Sharing family!
