MARCH 2023 MINISTRY REPORT

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We pray and hope you and your family are well.

Thank you very much for your willingness to partner with us in fulfilling the great commission of sharing the gospel in our community through sports. The Lord has graciously supplied the following needed resources for our ministry through our partnership with The Edge/Destiny Church, Hope Markers, Go2Goal, J316 Ministries, GlobalGiving, Zinduka Afrika, The Ball Project, Culver City Football Team, Mbagathi Road Primary School (MRPS), and other key supporters like you!

OUR WEEKLY MINISTRY PROGRAM

Several weekly devotions and prayers for staff, students, beneficiaries, and our coaching team.
80 marginalized children both boys and girls (aged 6-16) continue to be holistically impacted through our programs.

HIGHLIGHT

Sports Aid Africa (SAA) has partnered with Hope Markers, Zinduka Afrika, and The Edge/Destiny Church, Go2Goal to run Sustainable Health Endeavour (S.H.E) at MRPS, shipping equipment and covering ministry transport for our coaches. The SHE program targets both in- and out-of-school chil dren with weekly devotional sessions as well as teaching them more about growing up, hygiene, and Menstrual Health Management. 600 boys and girls have enrolled in this weekly program facilitated by SAA and Zinduka.
211 sanitary towels and pants were distributed to girls, and 200 boxes were distributed to boys.
New water tower and 10,000 liters of water was erected at MRPS to supply water in bathrooms.
Alvin Mokaya hails from a marginalized communit y. He is a fine soccer player and a bright student who gained 357 marks to emerge as the top student in the entire school in his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). SAA secured him a scholarship to enroll in high school through Hope Markers and Zinduka.

THE WAY FORWARD

To develop established partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
To provide S.H.E. to all students and beneficiaries of the MRPS and SAA programs.
To facilitate shipments of sports equipment from the US.
To make strategic upgrades to our MRPS office and to enhance the school environment for learners, our players, and staff.
To provide learning materials, school fees, tutoring, uniforms, and meals for SAA Academy participants.

SAA ANNUAL MINISTRY REPORT

Dear Partners in the ministry,

We have a lot to praise God for in 2022. His faithfulness to Sports Aid Africa (SAA) and our partners continues to encourage and sustain us. He is truly the Great Provider! We have achieved so much through our partnership with The Edge/Destiny Church, Hope Markers, Go2Goal, J316 Ministries, GlobalGiving, The Ball Project, Culver City Football Team, Mbagathi Road Primary School (MRPS), and key supporters like you!

Our focus in 2022 was on recruiting staff and expanding our partnerships with like-minded organizations, institutions, churches, and individuals. By God’s grace, we successfully achieved our goal! In addition, through our partners' support, we were able to accomplish the following: Redesigned and launched our website; recruited one full-time and part-time staff and two volunteers; shipped sports equipment from the U.S. to Nairobi, Kenya; blessed all 80 children in our program with Christmas food baskets; provided spiritual development to our students, and parents; restored the soccer field at MRPS; provided sports equipment to our players, parents, staff and our partners; and increased our program from 10 to 80 children.

Thank you for your faithful partnership with Sports Aid Africa. Through your generous support, God graciously supplies the needed resources for this ministry. We never take this blessing for granted. We take our responsibility to protect these resources very seriously. We look forward to seeing what God will do in 2023 through our partnership again!

The Way Forward In 2023:

To develop new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.
To facilitate two shipments of sports equipment from our U.S. partners.
To make strategic upgrades to our office and MRPS to enhance the environment for learners, our players, and staff.
To provide learning materials, school fees, tutoring, uniforms, and meals for SAA Academy participants.
To bring in a health specialist to educate the girls in our program on their bodies, and provide them with sanitary kits to help them during their menstrual cycle.

MBAGATHI ROAD SCHOOL MINISTRY REPORT

Greetings!

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share our ministry with you! We trust that you’re all keeping well.

I had the privilege of sharing the gospel with the wheelchair basketball National team before their departure for national duty.

Education: Sports Aid Africa(SAA) donated learning materials to 1000 children of Mbagathi Road Primary School(MRPS). Prior to receiving these gifts, students were attending classes with very limited school supplies. Some had never received new school supplies.

Tutor: Each child at MRPS is required to pay an extra $ 100 for their tutor per term which amounts to $ 300 per year. Amajority of these children are denied such an opportunity because their parents and guardian struggle to raise such funds. Their parents and guardian earn as low as $2 per day for the service they offered which they give priority to paying the essential basic needs like rent, food, and transportation.

Lunch: Lunch costs $200 per term amounting to $600 per year for a child in a public school in Kenya. This meal is usually very crucial since for many it is their only meal yet it remains a dream to a majority of these underprivileged students leading to poor performance in their academics.

The Place: The MRPS sports field has not been utilized for a long time due to unkept fields. However, we’ve been able to keep the grass trimmed through your generous support. This has provided a safe place and a relaxed environment for children to have fun and develop their talent. A lot of school activities have happened on this field since it was prepared, including the government functions among others.

SAA: We awarded outstanding players with Godly character, disciplined and who had performed exceptionally well in their academics with learning materials and sports equipment.

Way Forward

We’re committed to raising funds to holistically support our boarder community and the forcibly displaced persons.
We seek to continue to provide meals for our players after the training to promote healthy eating habits as funds are made available.

Operational funds for our ministry.
Wisdom and guidance as we seek to establish new relationships with our neighboring communities and other likeminded partners.
And how can we also be praying for you and your family.

My Prayer: Forgive us Lord for ignoring the very reason we are here on earth. You designed us to bring the world to you and we are busy turning the world for ourselves. Please give us a generous and loving heart to support these marginalized families.
