Dear Project of the Month Club Member,
When a member of a family has a disability, the responsibility and energy required to provide loving care for that individual can at times be overwhelming and exhausting.
Our July Project of the Month, Supporting Families with Disabled Children by Hande fur Kinder e. V., maintains a safe, restful, and restorative retreat for families at The New Kupferhof in Hamburg. With a team of nurses, therapists, and educators available for the young guests, The New Kupferhof is a short-term home for children with disabilities and their families where 400 families a year can stay for up to a month.
“We try to support the children with disabilities as best we can,” shared Andrea Jaap, Head of PR for Hande fur Kinder e. V. after learning that Hande fur Kinder’s project was chosen as the July Project of the Month. “We can achieve a lot here with music. The visits from the specially trained clowns are important. But above all, the contact with animals - with dogs, alpacas, and chickens - ensures a great effect. Therefore, we are happy when we can afford these visits. Thanks to GlobalGiving and all our donors!”

Thank you for your commitment to a better world!
