Anchor Group

We are excited to announce that we now have an active Anchor cohort. This cohort began a week ago and we are looking forward to getting to know these courageous young women. The format of this Anchor cohort is different than previous cohorts. We are now keeping the group open versus having it closed. We have changed the group format in hopes that we will meet the needs of our clients more effectively.

In reference to our other opportunity…nothing has materialized thus far. However, we are having faith that things will fall into place the beginning of next year. Stay tuned to find out more details.

Individual Sessions

Unfortunately, with the increasing influx of demand for services for this age group (whom all attend school) we have almost reached capacity regarding counselor/scheduling availability.Thus, we have created the aforementioned Anchor group with the intent of still meeting the needs of adolescents but in larger numbers versus on an individualized basis. We are still offering individual services but they are determined case by case.

Navigate EducationTrainings

Since the last report, Fair Haven has done several more Navigate trainings in local community high schools. Likewise, we continue to receive requests to do more and have even been asked to return to one school for a follow up discussion with students.

Needs

We still need the funds to be able to hire additional staff members to add to the Anchor team. Fair Haven would also benefit from more funding to be able to purchase extra space to be able to run our programs and groups more effectively.

We are still accepting used women’s magazines to utilize for our collaging and other art activities.

Updates

Anchor Group

We currently still do not have an Anchor cohort at this time. In the last update we mentioned an exciting opportunity that might materialize in the near future. We wish we could alleviate your burden of curiosity and give you more details about the above mentioned opportunity. Unfortunately, we still do not have any specific information to relay. We are hoping to learn more soon (trust us…we are on the edge of our seats to know more too!)

Individual Sessions

We continue to see our young adolescent clients on an individual basis and are consistently receiving more referrals regularly. We enjoy using interactive activities like games, art, and music and providing a safe and unique way for our young ladies to express their emotions. Plus, we find that they, too, appreciate and respond well to these activities.

Navigate Trainings

The Navigate trainings continue to be received well in the community high schools and churches. Furthermore, there have been some instances where we have been contacted after the trainings for additional services. While it breaks our hearts, we could not be more pleased to be able to help these young courageous souls who have come forward to share their stories with us.

Needs

It is our goal to be able to provide the best care in order to effectively meet the needs of our special young clients.  

As the demand for the Anchor program grows we are still hopeful to one day add staff members and volunteers to our Anchor team. Additionally, we are looking for used women’s magazines to utilize for our collaging and other art activities.
