Let's add colours to our Country - Planting 1.8 milion trees project! During the months of October, November and December 2021, no activities were realized within this project. Activities will begin in March this year. The reasons have to do with the lack of funds but also due to the situation with the covid pandemic 19. However, we are now preparing to continue the online fundraising campaign but also through other ways in order to continue planting trees of 1.8 milion trees in next 9 years. The 10-year plan has been drafted and we are applying for funds through various business companies, but also through various calls for projects made by various international organizations as well as local and international institutions.
In the framework of the "Let 's add colors to our country " campaign, tree planting activities continue to take place, tree planting is being done in cooperation with volunteers, organizations, businesses and various institutions of the country.
In June, respectively on June 5, an action was organized for planting 200 trees in three locations in the region of Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo.
30 trees have been planted in the area near the train station.
150 trees have been planted in the public space near the oncology hospital in Prishtina
70 trees have been planted in the public space, the roundabout at the exit of Prishtina near the highway.

Report
The activities of the "Let's Add Colors to Our Country" Campaign are continuing as planned. Among the focuses of the Campaign, is also the planting of trees along the road lanes in the country, which are seen to be polluted with garbage. By planting trees in road lanes, we aim to leave no free space where it can be contaminated with garbage, as well as reduce the impact of air pollution from cars and acoustic pollution from vehicle noise.
So, on 5th of December 2020, in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure, we started the greening of the road lane of the "Ibrahim Rugova" highway. This activity resulted in the planting of about 150 trees. Part of this activity was also the (then) Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Arban Abrashi. Tree planting activities along the road lanes will continue, extending across the country.
Planting activities took place also in Suhareka in January 2021, where about 100 trees were planted. Participants in the activity were also the mayor and other municipal officials. So, almost all municipalities in the country are slowly becoming part of the Campaign.

On November 4, we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kosovo Olympic Committee for the joint implementation of the campaign “Let’s Add Colors to Our Country”. This event was public through the presence of the main media of the country. On this occasion, we revealed only some of the main details of the campaign, to intrigue the attention of the citizens, to then give the other details at the launch ceremony of the campaign, which was organized on November 24.
On November 24, we organized the campaign launch ceremony in the open air, inviting potential actors and collaborators of the campaign. There were present the ministers of the main relevant ministries of the campaign, deputy ministers, representatives of international organizations in the country which are actively involved in promoting the preservation and protection of the environment (among them, in Kosovo is UNDP which promotes SDGs, and our campaign supports the achievement of these objectives), representatives of local environmental NGOs, Olympic judo champion Majlinda Kelmendi and other athletes, environmental activists, etc. (The ceremony was organized in the open air and all protection measures against COVID-19 were observed!). The event caught the attention of the entire public and was talked about in the main news of the most followed media in the country.
On the day of the launch of the campaign, on November 24, we also carried out the first action of planting the campaign "Let's Give the Country Color". We planted 18 trees - the number "18" symbolizes "1.8 million". The trees were planted by the guests themselves and each tree holds the names of institutions, NGOs, athletes, environmental activists by whom were planted.
