Of all the climate change mitigation methods, tree planting option seems to be more viable in Nigeria.
Nigeria is far away from technology based sequestration option and is not likely to reduce its dependency on the main source of carbon dioxide ,the fossil fuel which is causing excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that trap heat.Nigeria is a fossilized nation.
Tree planting has been recognized globally as a tool for combating climate change and its concomitant effects..
Interestingly ,EARN's efforts and awareness campaign to plant more trees to soak up carbon dioxide, reduce heat ,flood and shelter birds seem to be gatheting momentum in the public space and government cycle.
Lagos state government flagged off its 500 tree planting campaign in June 2026 while EARN launched it campaign in September 2025 before the government.
We hereby announce to GlobalGiving, our partner that EARN has been recognized by Lagos state government and its Ministry of Environment(MOE) is collaborating with us to plant more trees in Lekki ,Lagos. We now have government backing secured.
The support and donations are still slow. We received a donaion of 10 euro in Aug 2026.
We believe Resilience = unstoppable momentum in our efforts to impact on lives, the environment ,wildlife ,communities and humanity.
Thank you Globslgiving for leading the way.
