Plant 50,000 Trees In Northern Rwanda

We are pleased to share a completion update on the nursery maintenance activities supporting our ongoing tree planting program in Rulindo District.

Nursery Location
The tree nursery is located in Burega Sector, near Buyoga Sector, Rulindo District, Rwanda.
Coordinates:

Current Nursery Status
A total of approximately 22,500–23,000 saplings are under active management. The saplings are healthy and have shown good progress toward transplant readiness.

Completed Nursery Maintenance Activities
We are pleased to confirm that the planned nursery maintenance activities have been successfully completed, including:

• Manual weeding of the entire nursery, with weeds removed by the roots

• Sorting and spacing of saplings to reduce overcrowding

• Removal of weak or diseased plants

• Light soil loosening and improvement using organic matter

• Adjustment of watering practices to ensure adequate moisture and proper drainage

These completed activities have improved soil conditions, reduced the risk of disease, and promoted uniform and healthy sapling growth. No herbicides were used, ensuring the protection of young plants and the surrounding environment.
