At Instituto Bola Para Frente, we use Integral Education as a driver for “Training for life: the sport beyond movement”, with the aim of ensuring that girlsaged between 6 and 17 years and families have, at the end of the pedagogical training path, the skills and abilities that constitute them as autonomous people capable of acting and contributing to the transformation of the world.

In the project, our methodology believes that the ludic helps in the process of breaking socio-emotional blocks. In this sense, the creativity resulting from fantasy and realization facilitates absorption during the teaching-learning process. A creative being contributes to human development by observing the world and criticizing, becoming a transforming agent who expresses himself in different ways, with the purpose of spreading ideas, having fun and influencing attitudes and behaviors. For this to happen, systematic contact with recreational activities and their various languages is essential. Given this, education and sport, within a pedagogical process, are intertwined, since sport is part of Brazilian culture.

Over the last few months, the project carried out the following steps, serving 100 girls:

  • "Treino é treino" stage: In this stage, students participate in activities in the classroom that deal with the various fields of knowledge, seeking comprehensive training in the intellectual, physical, emotional, social and cultural dimensions.
  • "Começa o jogo" stage: In this stage, students will participate in sports activities that will use the 80/20 methodology as a model, where 20% of the time is used for defining rules and debates and 80% of the time is used for practicing the sport educational.

Thus, the project uses various forms of expression provided by sport and culture to broaden the world view of the beneficiary public, valuing self-knowledge and contributing to the construction of local identity. The activities use principles, techniques and procedures that lead children and adolescents towards a physically healthy, mentally stimulating, socially useful and morally dignified formation. This contributes to the development of citizenship and encourages social protagonism. It is thus a multidisciplinary project that assists children and adolescents in the region in the growth of their different skills.

In just a few months of service, we achieved the following results:

  • More than 80% of our students are students from the public school network in situations of social vulnerability;
  • About 56% of our students reached satisfactory levels with regard to the sense of community;
  • About 59% of our students reached satisfactory levels with regard to teamwork;.

Therefore, with the aim of maintaining actions that benefit an increasingly growing number of children and adolescents living in the community, the project continually presents itself as a necessary and relevant instrument for articulating and mediating sports, educational and cultural experiences that provide and favor a more just and egalitarian society.
