This project seeks to promote sport as a tool to educate children and adolescents in social and economic vulnerability in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. For us, sport is more than a movement: it is a learning language. Through sport, we can improve the quality of life of students and their families, impacting the community and improving the territory's HDI. For this, we use sport as an instrument for physical, social, intellectual, cultural and emotional well-being.
Despite football being widely known around the world, many students from the Muquico slum don't practice sports activities on a scheduled basis. For this reason, Bola Pra Frente Institute represents the only space in the territory where sport is practiced systematically, with a focus on the integral development of the public. In this way, sport is more than movement: it's a way of educating children and adolescents for adult life, providing social protagonism.
Thinking about the lack of spaces for practicing sports in the territory, the project seeks to offer the public different sports, Olympic and non-Olympic, in order to present different possibilities to practice a healthy life through sport. Considering the expansion of our headquarters, our new spaces represent an opportunity to increase the students' knowledge of different sports, in order to increase the contact of each one with the sport of greater affinity.
The greatest impact is to expand the possibilities of practicing sports, presenting a greater number of modalities. In this way, the long-term impact is to guarantee the development of fully literate students, practitioners of a healthy life and who have carried out a life plan, human beings committed to the community and knowledgeable of their rights, duties, cultural diversity and the value of the culture itself.
