PBSP NextGen Initiative (MaMa/F1KD)

PBSP held the Maalam na MaMa Nutrition Education Session for cohorts 1 & 2 of the Masustansyang Pagbubuntis, Masiglang Kamusmusan or MaMa Program in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental. The session focused on post-partum nutrition as well as highlighting the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the child’s first six months. This strategically coincides with the expected delivery dates of the first cohort of beneficiaries. In the same 2-day session, the mothers received additional support from PBSP, such as the MaMa Infant Care Kits, 10kg rice subsidy, and toys from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

Now with over 220 mother and child beneficiaries across three provinces, the MaMa First 1000 Days Program continues in its mission to help end child malnutrition and stunting. Through its four key components (antenatal care support, early nutrition transition, nutrition education, and sustainability interventions), the 36-month program caters to the basic necessities of a mother and child that would ultimately lead to a healthier and vibrant life.
