Path to Womanhood is a project designed to empower and educate young women about what to expect as they journey into womanhood. The nature of this project is to remessage the period with curiosity and anticipation and to remove the shock, shame, and embarrassment often felt by young women when it comes to menstruation. The aim of this is to cultivate an interest in learning and celebrating monthly cycles, so that every young woman can have a deep and holistic understanding of what to expect
We believe that the way we currently educate about periods, with a detached focus on the mechanics of the body and product demonstrations is sterile, stand-offish, and is shrouded in shame that disconnects women from truly understanding and honoring themselves. We want to change this, and give young women the tools to respect and cherish every part of themselves and their cycles.
To provide the tools, guidance and practice that create safe spaces for young women to explore what's to come, and openly talk about periods and all the different aspects of womanhood without any fear. It's not just about education, we want to prepare young women for this exciting rite of passage into womanhood as something to be honored, enjoyed and celebrated with friends and family.
The project will educate young women in underprivileged nations to help promote a better understanding of health and well-being. Educated women go on to educate their children and benefit their communities. It only takes one generation to remove the shame and embarrassment women feel about their bodies by changing the way to communicate with the young girls of today.
