In the rural areas of the Volta region, many caregivers struggle to provide their children, especially girls, with the guidance and support they need to thrive. Without active listening and positive role modelling, these young girls often seek attention and validation from their male peers, leading to teenage pregnancy and altered life paths. This project aims to equip caregivers with the skills and confidence to provide nurturing and supportive environments for their children.
Many caregivers in rural Volta communities lack the parenting skills and confidence needed to guide and communicate effectively with their children. This leaves young girls without proper support, making them more vulnerable to peer pressure, low self-esteem, and teenage pregnancy. Without improved parental skills, girls continue to face disrupted education and limited future opportunities.
By empowering caregivers to provide supportive and nurturing environments, we can help our young girls develop positive self-esteem and body image, make informed decisions about their health and well-being and pursue their educational and career goals without interruption. Your donation will help us provide critical training and mentorship to caregivers, empowering them to raise confident, resilient, and ambitious young girls. Together, we can break the cycle of teenage pregnancy.
In the long term, this project will help caregivers build stronger, healthier relationships with their children especially young girls. By learning positive parenting skills, active listening, and supportive guidance, caregivers will create safer home environments that protect girls from early pregnancy and harmful influences. As a result, more girls will stay in school, grow in confidence, and pursue their goals without interruption.
