During this period, 170 adolescents have begun charting their own path toward the future. We successfully completed the three workshops that make up the first phase of the program, “The Inner Mirror,” where participants learned to distinguish society’s expectations from their own genuine aspirations, interests, and passions. We have now launched the second phase, “The Talent Lab,” beginning with its first session, which helped young people understand that mistakes are an essential part of the creative process. In addition, we shared a highly enriching experience with volunteers from Crystal, where adolescents used printmaking techniques to express their dreams and reflect on the steps needed to achieve them.
A clear example of this journey of self-discovery is Andrés, a 16-year-old participant. Andrés is a caring young man who looks after his grandmother and contributes to his family’s income by helping sell tamales. At the beginning of our support process, he struggled with managing frustration. However, through psychoeducational tools such as the “emotional traffic light,” he learned how to pause and recognize his emotions before reacting impulsively. Today, Andrés has transformed that impulsiveness into self-reflection and self-care.
His vision for the future is now more structured, and his goal is clear: he hopes to study culinary arts and eventually open his own restaurant. Thanks to your support, 170 young people like Andrés are discovering their inner compass, validating their talents, and building meaningful life projects grounded in purpose and hope.
