Progress in October

By Geoff Matheson | CEO

Organism's development into a successful collaborative technology, and potent social network, is going to take time. With that in mind, our team has decided to build the larger concept though a number of smaller projects which will be like stepping stones leading to our full launch. This will build synergy as each step is tied together, and by using the community feedback, expose any flaws in each area of the project, without risking the overall success of the whole .

The first step/project is a test of the visual environment. We are planning to use an innovative user interface to create a powerful and unique network. With such a rich UI, we are going to need to prototype. Visually, Organism will be a stunning map of human interaction, therefore we have begun to develop a web-app based around visualizing a similar concept and orienting users to our company, and design. To find a sufficiently equivalent library of data to test on, we have targeted visualizing Twitter.

There are many important reasons we picked Twitter. First, it is a dense social network with millions of user accounts tweeting 90 million tweets a day. This is key to our mission of developing a visual that can handle large amounts of data. On the other hand, it is not a monster like facebook which has 500 million accounts. Next, Twitter as a networking tool is relatively simple. It is used only for short messages and links, so we won't have to develop a beta version beyond the visual representation which we would be developing for our network anyways. In addition, we believe that by producing this interactive visual application we will begin to gather support for Organism's collaborative network. Finally, we have decided to pursue visualizing Twitter because of their offerings of multiple comprehensive and streamlined APIs.

We are building our community of developers, and hope soon to be able to show you our vision. Look forward in the next couple weeks to more concept art and more exciting news regarding our progress.
