Building Futures Through Education

Education is one of the most important investments a community can make in its children. Yet for families facing economic hardship, the cost of school fees, learning materials and daily meals can become overwhelming.

Good Cause Foundation is working to ensure that poverty does not permanently prevent vulnerable children from pursuing their education. Through this project, children from underprivileged and underserved communities will receive support with school fees, scholastic materials and school lunch.

The project will begin by supporting children joining secondary school and will seek to accompany them throughout the six years of secondary education. The initiative will also extend to young people joining tertiary institutions for skills development and certification, helping them move from basic education toward practical qualifications.

Objectives of the Project

To expand educational opportunities for children from vulnerable and underserved communities.

To reduce school dropout by helping families meet essential education costs.

To provide learning materials that enable students to study, complete assignments and participate fully in classroom activities.

To address hunger among vulnerable learners through school lunch support, creating a more supportive environment for learning.

To promote secondary school completion by providing continued educational assistance rather than short-term support alone.

To help young people transition into tertiary education and vocational skills training, enabling them to obtain practical skills and recognized certification.

To contribute to long-term family and community development by helping children and young people gain education and skills that can improve their future opportunities.

Our vision is to see children who might otherwise be left behind remain in school, discover their abilities and continue progressing toward their goals.

The journey from a child's first day in secondary school to tertiary-level certification requires persistence and support. With the generosity of GlobalGiving donors, Good Cause Foundation can help make that journey possible for children who need it most.

Give a Child the Chance to Learn

Every child deserves the opportunity to sit in a classroom, learn without hunger, access the materials they need, and complete their education. Unfortunately, children from poor and underserved communities can face financial barriers that interrupt their education and place their dreams at risk.

Good Cause Foundation's education project aims to provide a helping hand to these children by supporting school fees, scholastic materials, and school lunch. The project will focus on children entering secondary school and support them throughout the six years of secondary education, while also helping young people entering tertiary institutions for skills training and certification.

Objectives of the Project

To support school enrollment for children whose families cannot afford the costs associated with secondary education.

To keep vulnerable children in school by helping families meet school fee requirements and reducing interruptions caused by financial hardship.

To provide scholastic materials including books, pens, pencils and other essential learning resources.

To improve children's concentration and participation by providing school lunch to learners who may otherwise attend school hungry.

To support completion of secondary education by providing continued assistance to learners throughout their six years of secondary school.

To support tertiary education and skills development by helping young people access institutions where they can gain practical skills and certification.

To create pathways toward a more secure future by ensuring vulnerable learners have opportunities to gain education, skills and qualifications.

For a child living in poverty, a school fee payment can mean remaining in class instead of staying at home. A book can mean being able to complete an assignment. A school meal can mean being able to concentrate through an afternoon lesson.

From School Access to Skills

Education can change the direction of a child's life, but children living in poverty often face barriers that make it difficult to reach their full potential. School fees may keep them out of class, lack of scholastic materials can limit their participation, and hunger can make learning extremely difficult.

Good Cause Foundation seeks to provide a continuous support system for vulnerable children by helping them access and remain in education. Through this project, children from underserved communities will receive school fees, scholastic materials and school lunch.

Support will begin with children joining secondary school and, where possible, continue throughout the six years of secondary education. After secondary school, the project will also support young people entering tertiary institutions for skilling and certification, helping them acquire practical knowledge that can contribute to their future livelihoods.

Objectives of the Project

To remove financial barriers to secondary education by supporting school fees for children from underprivileged households.

To provide children with essential educational resources including books and other scholastic materials required for successful learning.

To improve learners' ability to attend and concentrate in school through the provision of school lunch to vulnerable children.

To support learners through the full secondary education journey, helping reduce interruptions and school dropout caused by poverty.

To provide a bridge from secondary education to practical skills by supporting selected learners entering tertiary institutions for skilling and certification.

To promote long-term self-reliance by helping young people obtain education and practical qualifications that can contribute to future livelihood opportunities.

The project recognizes that keeping a child in school requires more than paying school fees. A learner also needs the basic materials to study, adequate nutrition to remain attentive, and continued support to progress through different stages of education.

With the partnership of GlobalGiving donors, Good Cause Foundation hopes to walk alongside vulnerable learners throughout this journey—from secondary school enrollment to completion, and from education to practical skills and certification.
