The spring semester of Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) recently ended with a reception celebrating the 40 Cedar Village resident artists and their wonderful works of art. The inspiring art created by the class participants is now on display outside the Wilbur and Mary Cohen Religious and Cultural Center.
This class, which is specifically designed for residents with a clinical diagnosis of dementia, was provided in conjunction with Miami University’s Scripps Gerontology Department. Under the direction of Like Loken, well-trained student volunteers worked on a one-to-one basis to assist the artists as they created their unique art pieces. Although assistance was provided, the goal was to enable the residents to work as independently as possible.
Your generosity enables Cedar Village to enrich the lives of residents by stimulating their creative processes. Thank you for your support!
