International Olympiad - Eleventh Report

By Adriana Gutierrez Galicia | Project Manager

The OIMC 2025 – International Math and Knowledge Olympiad has consolidated its position, in its fifth annual edition, as one of the leading initiatives promoting academic excellence and holistic student development. During this quarter, the competition achieved significant progress in strengthening and expanding its qualifying stage, reaching all Brazilian states and extending its international presence across Lusophone African countries, with special emphasis on Angola and Mozambique.

This period was marked by strong institutional mobilization, the reinforcement of strategic partnerships, expanded outreach efforts, and growing engagement from both public and private schools. Educational networks demonstrated consistent adherence, with a significant increase in participating institutions and steady growth in student registrations.

Key Results

  • Registered Students: 16,372

A 1.44% increase compared to the previous edition, consolidating the Olympiad’s national and international reach.

  • Participating Countries: 3

Brazil, Angola, and Mozambique, strengthening educational integration among Portuguese-speaking nations.

  • Participating Schools: 233

A 22.63% increase compared to the previous edition, demonstrating institutional expansion and the strengthening of the educational partner network.

Educational and Social Impact

Through the International Math and Knowledge Olympiad, we aim to:

  • Encourage the study of mathematics and general knowledge among young people, especially students from public schools;
  • Contribute to the improvement of educational quality by supporting innovative teaching practices and fostering teacher development;
  • Promote the effective use of the internet as a tool for learning and digital inclusion;
  • Foster cooperative learning, strengthening social and emotional skills and collaborative relationships among students;
  • Provide a meaningful and transformative experience in the field of knowledge olympiads, expanding academic horizons and future opportunities.

Beyond the quantitative growth, the project’s transformative impact is increasingly evident. Students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds gain access to a challenging, international, and inclusive academic experience. The growing participation of public schools reinforces our commitment to equity and democratization of opportunities.

Outlook and Sustainability

The territorial and institutional expansion of OIMC 2025 brings new operational and strategic challenges, including the enhancement of technological infrastructure, the strengthening of organizing teams, the refinement of evaluation processes, and the continuation of outreach efforts in regions with limited access to academic competitions.

The support of partners and sponsors remains essential to ensure the sustainability and continued growth of this initiative. Their contribution enables the expansion of participation scholarships, strengthens international communication, and preserves the technical excellence of the Olympiad.

We conclude this quarter with solid results and promising prospects. Each registered student represents a concrete opportunity for transformation through education. By supporting OIMC, partners directly contribute to the academic, civic, and socio-emotional development of thousands of young people, reinforcing an international network committed to knowledge, equity, and the future.
