In our last report, we announced that the Mother and Child Health (MCH) area of the Center to Improve Reproductive and Child Health was completed. The MCH is now fully occupied and the new facility is offering a full range of services, including HIV-related counseling, prenatal and antenatal maternal check-ups, and newborn and early childhood well visits. The patients and the staff are thriving in the new environment!
The Nutrition Center will be the final phase of the Reproductive Health Center to be built. The construction of this phase will hopefully begin in 2024 after the completion of the Medical Imaging Suite. The hospital’s master plan calls for a phased approach to new construction that includes the remodeling and repurposing of vacated spaces. The areas that will be available after completion of the entire Reproductive Health Center will be converted into dental and same-day surgery facilities, further expanding the ability of the hospital to provide quality healthcare for the citizens of the Mwandi District and beyond.
Again, we thank all of our generous donors and are grateful for those who contributed during this weeks GivingTuesday campaign.
