ACTIVITIES REPORT
1. Activities Planned and their Foreseen Results (according to the work plan)
a. Ensured food security by the distribution of ration supplies to the families of COVID 19 victims
As before, for this time too, we planned to ensure food security within the marginalized and underprivileged rural women communities by the distribution of ration supplies to 11 families who have suffered the risk of famine due to lack of any income generation activities because of COVID 19. These 11 families were the ones who have suffered heavily because of no alternative source of income rather than daily wages. We helped by providing them with the food supplies like rice, pulses, cooking oils, lentils, wheat flour, and chicken peas. Such food supplies to the ultra-poor ones also helped them to sustain longer during difficult times. Thus, the distribution of food supplies also helped them to feed their children and the older ones in their families added more significance to our humanitarian cause.
b. Reduced Domestic Violence Cases in Rural Women Community during the time of COVID pandemic.
It is also one of our significant accomplishments of being able to reduce the growing cases of domestic violence in the rural women communities and keep them safe from both physical and mental abuse by their husbands under the influence of alcohol. The food distribution to 11 families and especially in the hands of women of the families made the men realize the importance of their women, and with the promises of not taking alcohol by the male members helped to reduce the cases of domestic violence in the community.
2. Beyond the work plan
a. Impact and Unforeseen achievements or results
The most important unforeseen achievement during the implementation of our project was that we were also able to increase the awareness about the growing cases of new forms of COVID 19 variant i.e. Omicron all over the world. We also alerted them that if they are going to repeat the same mistakes of not following the preventive measures like washing hands with soaps regularly, maintaining social distances, not making any crowds within the communities, using sanitizers and masks while going outside their residence, etc. could lead to a more critical situation than before and also rise in deaths due to the virus.
