 ACTIVITIES REPORT

1. Activities Planned and their Foreseen Results

Foreseen results (according to the work plan)

a. Ensured food security by the distribution of ration supplies to the families of COVID 19 victims

It is one of our significant accomplishments so far to ensure food security by the distribution of ration supplies to 16 families of rural women community who have suffered the risk of feminine due to the enforced lockdown by the government for the second time as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of COVID 19. Those families were provided with the food supplies like rice, pulses, cooking oils, lentils, wheat flour, and chicken peas. Such food supplies to the victims of COVID 19 who are underprivileged and ultra-poor ones also helped them to sustain longer during the time of the COVID 19 crisis. These 16 families were the ones who have suffered heavily because of no alternative source of income rather than daily wages. Thus, the distribution of food supplies also helped them to feed their children and the older ones in their families which added more significance to our humanitarian cause.

b. Reduced Domestic Violence Cases in Rural Women Community during the time of COVID pandemic.

It is also one of our significant accomplishments of being able to reduce the cases of domestic violence in the rural women communities during the time of lockdown and pandemic and keep them safe from both physical and mental abuse by their husbands under the influence of alcohol. The food distribution to 16 families and especially in the hands of women of the families made the men realize the importance of their women, and also with the promises of not taking alcohol by the men members helped to reduce the cases of domestic violence in the community.

Beyond the work plan

Impact and Unforeseen achievements or results

The most important unforeseen achievement during the implementation of our project was that we were also able to increase the awareness about the preventive measures to be adopted by the rural women communities to prevent the spread of COVID 19 like washing hands with soaps regularly, maintaining social distances and using sanitizers and masks by all of them. Also, the vulnerabilities of rural women communities being affected by the COVID 19 virus have been reduced due to the increased awareness and knowledge about the causes and effects of the virus and how quickly it can spread among the community if it was not prevented earlier.
