QUARTERLY REPORT OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2016
Neelbagh School was closed for the half yearly break and for the Dussehra festival. The school re opened on the 24th o f October 2016 and the students went back to their regular schedule.
The students celebrated Diwali- the festival of lights at the school. A special lunch was given to all the students and staff which included sweets as a special treat. The children also enjoyed a fire works display.
The monthly sports competitions and cultural and other activities continued as per schedule. The students played kabaddi, throw ball, cricket and baseball and competitions between the houses were conducted.
Skit, fancy dress and other activities were also conducted. Children’s Day was celebrated on November 14th 2016.
The students are divided into 4 houses red, yellow, green and blue and all the monthly competitions are between the houses.
Sports- In the month of December 2016 GE conducted the Sports Meet for educational institutions at their Prabodhana GE Campus. Neelbagh students performed remarkably well and won the 1st place in more than 16 events out of 20 events and also won the overall GE Team Championship award.
AWIM Regional Olympics- Ashraya Neelbagh School students came out as outstanding winners in the AWIM Regional Olympics (A World in Motion-SAEINDIA ). The students won an entry in both Skimmer and Jet Toy, two of our teams have qualified to go to Nationals (scheduled to take place during first week of January 2017 at New Delhi). In addition we also won a host of other individual events in both Jet toy and skimmer categories. The Science Teacher was recognized with Best Teacher Award and the volunteer from SKID was given the Best Volunteer Award.
This is the third time Neelbagh school is participating and this year have qualified for the finals. Also, this year we created a perfect script and emerged as outstanding team in Skimmer where we won overall first place.
Best Teacher Award- Neelbgah School’s Headmaster received the Best High School Teacher Award from the Karnataka Education Department and was felicitated by numerous district level officials. He was given a certificate and trophy .
Volunteers- From a Bangalore based corporate 21 volunteers visited the school and spent the day with the students and staff. They shared information on numerous topics with the students- Health and hygiene, self defense for girls, career counseling, human values and ethics. They also taught the students dance and songs and everyone enjoyed the interaction. These experiences open the window to the outside world and give the students a wide exposure.
