Curriculum Change + Term 2 Started: Fees Needed to Keep 100+ Kids in Class
Important update: ACE → Local curriculum to help more children
We merged “Sponsor the Future Physician - Asher” + “Sponsor the Future Engineer - Caleb” into Sponsor Needy Kids in Uganda. We also changed from ACE curriculum to Uganda National curriculum.
Why the change:
1. Cut costs 40%: Local curriculum fees + materials are lower. Now $33 keeps 1 child in school 1 term vs $55 before.
2. Support more kids: Schools required local curriculum for government exams + transfers. Switch lets us sponsor 100+ children
3. Better future: Local curriculum = official PLE certificate + access to government secondary schools.
Schools + parents requested this. Same goal: keep children in class.
Term 2 Update: Kids in class, fees still needed
100+ children returned to school two weeks ago for Term 2, ending second week of August. We paid uniforms + scholastic materials so no child was sent home on day 1.
School fees are still pending. We need to clear term fees by August to keep all 100+ children from dropout. Schools agreed to let children stay while we fundraise because attendance is verified and parents contribute labor.
What your donation does RIGHT NOW:
1. $50- Pays school fees for 1 child for the full term
2. $25 - Uniform already provided for children in class
3. $9 - Books + pens already provided for 2 children
Your impact this term:
$50= 1 child stays in class through August exams
$150 = 3 children avoid dropout this term
School management sends attendance records every month. Parents contribute labor where possible.
From 2 dreams to 100+ futures
Asher wanted to be a doctor. Caleb wanted to be an engineer. Today 100+ children have that chance because donors adapt with us. Local curriculum + merger = more kids in class for less money.
Help us pay Term 2 fees before August. Every $50 keeps 1 child learning, not laboring.
With gratitude,
Mountains of Hope Children’s Ministries
