Laurietta recently completed her first year at Palm Institute. She is working on a Diploma in Business Administration. She lost her dad, who was an auto mechanic, about eight years ago. He left behind her mother and a younger sibling. Laurietta’s mother and a philanthropist from her church supported her education to finish high school.
During this period, she also helped to support her mother by selling at the market to make ends meet. After high school, she was introduced to Dr. Peter Carlos Okantey through her pastor. NAPE Foundation offered to support her education at Palm Institute. Laurietta desires to continue learning and growing with the education provided to her through Palm Institute. She was the only student from Palm Institute to qualify for the 2018 Netherlands New Business Challenge organized by the Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council. With this experience, she was able to travel to the Netherlands, work with Dutch students on a business challenge and had the opportunity to be exposed to a different culture.
Her main goal is to be a successful entrepreneur and provide support and employment opportunities to the youth who have a similar story like hers.
