Horace Mann Middle School in Colorado Springs CO

Thank you again for your generosity and support of music in our schools! Your donation makes so much possible. If you have a moment, check out the short video Horace Mann Middle School in Colorado Springs sent us. Your donation sets up students for success. Thank you for being there for them.

"We are so thankful each and every day for your amazing gift. The Mann Band program has continued to grow this year and several students have been selected to area honor bands including, 5 students for the Pikes Peak Middle School Honor Jazz Band (more than any other school in the region representing 9 school districts), 7 students for the Pikes Peak Middle School Honor Concert Band, and 2 students to the University of Colorado Middle School Honor Band (the first time Mann has had any students audition and be selected to this prestigious group)." Mrs. Kincaid, music teacher, Horace Mann MS

We just received this wonderful update from a school:

"We received our final shipment of instruments about a week ago and I have been assigning them to very excited students over the past several school days! I had all of the students open their instruments at the same time and there was an audible gasp of wonder and joy when they saw what was inside! Thank you so much for the opportunity to share this experience with my students this year and for many years to come!" Ms. Ziegenhorn, Band Director, Copper King ES, Phoenix AZ

So many excited students are enjoying a musical school year, thanks to you!

Catch up on stories, photos, and events over the last few months - the fall Opus Notes is here!

Take a look at the schools that benefited from your generosity, along with highlights from teachers and kids, in the last school year. 1,713 instruments and 1,349 accessories were donated to 94 schools in 23 states across the nation and will be played and enjoyed by thousands of students for years to come.

Thank you so much for giving students more opportunities through music - it means so much!

"The students all expressed that playing on the new instruments made them feel more confident in what they were doing. That boost of confidence came in handy because the 8th-grade band received straight 1st divisions at the district competition. All of the students were playing on donated instruments! We couldn’t have done it without the investment you made in our band program! Thanks again!" Jeremy L. Diggs, Director of Bands, Fonville Middle School, Houston TX

You make this possible - without you, teachers like Mr. Diggs and their students would not have the opportunity to experience their personal best, complete with music education.

Having the chance to play an instrument in school is only part of what your support provides for young people. You add joy to their lives, help them be better students, give them confidence and a voice.

Thank you so much for investing in our youth. Enjoy a wonderful summer!

We caught up with Brianna, a young violinist featured in the Academy Award nominated short documentary, Joe's Violin. Brianna was in 8th grade when MHOF donated an instrument to her school that would change her life.

Read our recent interview with Brianna, along with more stories, fun photos and more in our spring newsletter, Opus Notes.

We are very fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who help us fulfill our mission to keep music alive in our schools. To celebrate National Volunteer Week, we gave special shout-outs to our wonderful volunteers on Facebook and Instagram.

This school year, you helped us donate 1,267 instruments to 44 schools and because you came through in such a big way, we're going to reach many more students before the school year ends.

"Now I have a chance to learn an instrument and participate in class. This is the greatest gift ever!"  Jorge, 7th grade

On behalf of Jorge, and other students like him, thank you.

Our work is better because of you, and all the people who care about music education. It’s so important that students have this opportunity - giving them a sense of belonging and accomplishment, true life skills and joy. We’re excited to make 2019 even better.

Have a wonderful new year!
