Results roundup!

By Felice Mancini | President and CEO

We checked in with 75 teachers who received an instrument grant one year ago and this is what they collectively reported:

  • 1,791 additional students were able to participate in their school music program
  • 1,146 students no longer share an instrument
  • 589 aged and unrepairable instruments were replaced with new ones
  • 406 students no longer share a mouthpiece resulting in 227 additional hours of instruction time
Teachers also said their students were re-energized, parents became more engaged, and districts were more supportive.

Your generous support is making a difference. Thank you for keeping music alive in our schools. Enjoy a wonderful summer!

Read more of what teachers had to say:

“We were featured on our district website and were recognized at a school board meeting. It has raised awareness on our school campus, our district and our community. By receiving the donation, it has provided a platform to discuss our program in a positive manner and highlight the value and benefits of music education.” Mr. Scott Arakawa, Instrumental Director, Orange High School, Orange CA

“Because students get to bring home their own instruments to practice, parents are now aware of the benefits of music in their homes. Several parents have expressed wanting to purchase an instrument for their child so they can continue to play when they graduate! This grant has really impacted our students and their parent's support.” Ms. Serena Robinett, Instrumental Musical Teacher, Robert A. Van Wyck Middle School 217Q, Jamaica NY

“This year has seen the largest enrollments in the music program in the history of the school.” Mr. Charles Arnett, Band and Orchestra Director, Chandler Park Academy High School, Harper Woods MI
