The Bizung School of Music and Dance is thriving thanks to your support and belief that anything is possible through the power of music. As donors, you chose to share your generous spirit and resources with a community of children you’ve never met and we are so grateful. As part of our goal to support music education for children in Ghana we have been able to make exciting, new accomplishments.

The Bizung School was invited to participate in a prestigious music competition, the New Music Ghana Festival on June 20, this was an occasion to feature the talent and progress of the students. The Festival, sponsored by Arterial Ghana, Goeth-Institute and German Cultural Center in Accra, included the best musicians and dancers from across Ghana's Northern Region. Our students practiced diligently for several weeks to prepare for the competition. The school placed fifth overall, an exceptional accomplishment considering some of their fellow competitors were elders who had been performing for several years.

In addition, we have increased the number of students by 100, giving us a total of 200 students! The open-air classroom expansion and van along with new, experienced teachers have helped grow this program.

We still have more to go! A permanent building for the recording studio has been in construction. The studio will provide a valuable opportunity to introduce more students to the art of recording and could become a source of revenue through rental fees for local and regional musicians.

Thank you once again for your generosity and for helping us bring joy, laughter and hope to children around the world.
