This year I traveled to my hometown of Tamale, Ghana to oversee the completion of new classrooms and initiate a recording class for the Bizung School of Music & Dance. The construction for the summer hut is complete and recording classes are underway! It has been an exciting year for the Bizung School of Music & Dance.
In addition to the exciting new updates from Ghana, the Playing For Change Foundation has lauched the 'Stand By Me' Scholarship Program. Stand By Me Scholarships provide funding for students, including those at the Bizung School of Music and Dance to attend PFCF music programs for an entire year. Being home with the students in October, I saw how much the kids really give and share their knowledge and ideas with one another and help each other learn. These kids have the inspiration and will to learn. It's great to be able to go there and not only teach but also jam and feel the rhythm from these kids and the energy that they bring every day to school. It lifts me up and I LOVE THEM!
