Your investment in Puerto Rico's children is helping cultivate something our communities need now more than ever: environments where peace, belonging, and human dignity are experienced every day.
Because of your support, more than 13,000 students each year are learning in public Montessori school communities where respect, responsibility, collaboration, and compassion are not simply taught—they are lived. Through these experiences, children develop the skills, confidence, and sense of purpose needed to contribute positively to their families, communities, and society.
Today, the Montessori public school movement reaches 60 schools across 31 municipalities in Puerto Rico. What began as a vision shared by educators, families, and communities has grown into one of the most significant public Montessori initiatives in the world, creating opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds to access an education centered on peace, independence, and human development.
At Instituto Nueva Escuela, we often speak about the transformative power of education. Yet the true measure of transformation is found in the daily experiences of children who feel valued, families who feel welcomed, and school communities that work together toward a common good.
Montessori education creates the conditions for peace by helping students learn to listen, collaborate, resolve conflicts respectfully, care for their environment, and recognize their responsibility to others. These lessons extend far beyond the classroom and help shape the citizens, leaders, and changemakers of tomorrow.
This year, we also celebrated important milestones that strengthen the long-term sustainability of this work. Through partnerships, educator preparation, community engagement initiatives, and the continued expansion of Montessori environments, we are helping ensure that future generations of children have access to educational experiences that foster both academic excellence and social responsibility.
The impact of this approach continues to be reflected in our school communities. Today, 95% of families report a culture of peace within their Montessori school communities, and 95% would recommend their school to other families. These results speak not only to academic success, but to the sense of belonging, trust, and collaboration that families experience every day.
What makes this possible is not only an educational model, but the commitment of partners like you who believe that every child deserves access to an education that nurtures both academic excellence and human development.
As we reflect on the impact of this work, we are deeply grateful for your partnership. Your generosity is helping sustain educational communities where children discover their voice, families become active participants in learning, and schools serve as centers of hope and possibility.
The peace we aspire to see in Puerto Rico is being built every day in these classrooms, one child, one family, and one community at a time.
Thank you for investing in that future.
With gratitude,
The Instituto Nueva Escuela Team
School by school, a better Puerto Rico.
