Many rural residents experience vision problems but lack access to eye care services. This project will deliver mobile eye screening services to 700 people in rural communities, helping to identify vision problems early and connect individuals to appropriate care.
In rural areas, eye care services are often unavailable or too far to reach. Poor eyesight goes untreated, affecting daily activities, education, and income-earning opportunities. Without early screening, preventable or manageable eye conditions can worsen and lead to long-term vision loss.
The project will deploy mobile eye screening clinics to rural communities, providing vision tests, basic eye examinations, and referrals for further treatment when needed. Trained eye health professionals will conduct screenings, offer guidance on eye care, and refer severe cases to nearby health facilities for follow-up.
Early identification of vision problems will improve quality of life, productivity, and educational outcomes for rural residents. The project will increase awareness of eye health and encourage routine check-ups, reducing preventable vision impairment in underserved communities.
