Micro-credits for Baru Island entrepreneurs

Dear Donors,

First of all, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on behalf of all the beneficiaries of the project you have supported.

Thanks to your donations, all of them have been able to invest in their businesses. May all your generosity multiply!

2016 was a very good year for the project Microcredits for Baru Island entrepreneurs. Thanks to your donations, we were able to support 8 new businesses among which we find: 4 handcraft stores, 1 candy shop and 3 restaurants for a total of 33 indirect beneficiaries including the beneficiaries and their families.

Also, these businesses provide 4 direct jobs.

One of the microcredits recently granted was to Victor, one of the first beneficiaries of the project, who received his third credit do to his good payment behavior and commitment with his fish and seafood sales business.

Victor has been very responsible and his business as well as its sales, has considerably grown.

Victor’s mom helps him with the sales. They have recently bought a bigger refrigerator in order to be able to store a larger amount of fish and prawns, among others. The new loan if for working capital to get prepare for the holiday season in which many tourists visit the Island.

Finally, attached to this report, we will share some of the pictures taken in the December monthly visit to all the project beneficiaries.
