New research! We worked with a team of researchers from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the University of Exeter to highlight how complex the issue of menstruation is around the world.
Addressing menstrual health goes far beyond distributing menstrual products or teaching the menstrual cycle or building latrines. "Authors identified a broad range of factors that influenced women’s and girls’ experiences. This included the comfort and availability of menstrual products, but also knowledge of menstruation, access to social support structures and the expectations placed on females."
We have always prioritized research and vigorous M&E activities to ensure Femme's interventions are effective to the communities we work in. Proud to have contributed to this study - read more below!
