Giving Tuesday is Approaching!

Hello community members,
Giving Tuesday is fast approaching. Annually on December 3rd, we take the time as a community to reflect on the wonderful efforts made in Engari, Uganda and the challenges for the year ahead. Two programs you made possible in 2024 were the Computer Literacy and Menstrual Hygiene projects; essential needs for students in our partner schools. Our Menstrual Hygiene program in Engari has provided significant relief to a number of our students. However, there are still many young women in our partner school who are still lacking necessary hygiene projects. This holiday season, amongst the stressors and joys that we all face, we ask that you take the time to remember and support our students in Engari.
Each menstrual hygiene kit costs only $5 and can provide a student with the security and comfort to focus on their school day. Without these kits, students may miss up to four days a month due to menstrual cycles. Kits are sourced through AFRIPads, which produces kits and employs women in Uganda to help create sustainable menstrual products for their communities.
We hope that you will choose to continue supporting these efforts in Engari. Our community members in Uganda and internationally thank you for your generosity and support.

Hello again!
Joy of Community Foundation is thrilled to provide further updates on our Reusable Menstrual Kit Program. These kits will ensure that these young students are able to maintain hygiene and comfort throughout the entire month. By removing the worries around securing appropriate menstrual products, you are helping these girls put their full focus on their school day and career dreams.
Our Program Director, Owen Amutuhaire, and Managing Director at HEVIA Uganda, Deus Mwijuke have worked to distribute the menstrual kits across our three partner schools. Your contributions have allowed 1 our of every 8 young ladies attending our partner schools to receive menstual kits. Which means there are still many students who are in need of these products.
Please consider making another contribution to our project to reach out goal of providing every girl in our partner schools with a kit. Sharing this project with friends and family members can make a huge difference. Help us ensure each of these girls is able to head to school each morning with confidence!

Thank you to all of our generous supporters! Your contributions have allowed Joy of Community Foundation to provide over 120 reusable menstrual kits to our partner schools in Engari, Uganda. This removes a major obstacle for girls attending school and caring for their bodies. Because of you, these girls will now have the necessary products, knwoledge, and comfort to ensure that their education is not unnecessarily interrupted.
These "school girl menstrual kits" were purchased from AFRIpads. AFRIpads' factory is located in southwestern Uganda; meaning that your contributions also allowed us to support the local economysign. The menstrual kits include 5 reusable menstrual pads of varying sizes; providing the girls in our programs with menstrual hygiene products that last over a year. Additionally, AFRIpads provides menstrual hygiene education toolkits that will be used by Joy of Community to ensure the girls in our program have the knowledge they need to care for themselves.
If you would like to further contribute to the education and healthcare of girls in Uganda, please consider donating to our general fund that covers healthcare and community development costs or sponsoring a student in one of our partner schools.
