During the reporting period, our blind refugees from Ukraine continued to get acquainted with the culture of Germany, Poland, and their traditions.
In May, a group of Ukrainian blind refugees came together at the Louis Braille Festival in Stuttgart.
This is a really cool festival. A combination of a common area for those who like to hang out, listen to music, eat hot dogs, see friends and relax, and locations where you can see new developments, learn something new, play, ride tandems, dance, shoot, learn self-defense skills or ride motorcycles - this is really cool.
As well as the general organization and attraction of volunteers. And the complete absence of a “lofty charitable mission.” The Braille Festival is just that: a festival plus bonus educational encounters with something new and with someone new. These were unforgettable excursions around the city, visiting the art museum and music venues.
We met many new people and got acquainted with the traditions of Stuttgart. At the festival, our group shared the stories of Ukraine, its songs, music, and literature. We want our European friends to know about our country, so that they understand what Ukraine is fighting for.
