BRIEF:
The Media Arts Lab program for the year 2025–26 was implemented across 26 schools, reaching a total of 935 children through structured, creative learning interventions. The program was delivered in two cohorts, with 470 children in Cohort 1 and 465 children in Cohort 2. Centered around the theme of “6 Emotions” — Joy, Gratitude, Fear, Anger, Pride, and Hope — the initiative enabled students to explore and express complex internal feelings through media-based learning.
The program focused on developing skills in filmmaking, animation, photography, and digital storytelling, allowing children to translate their ideas into tangible creative outputs. Throughout the year, students actively engaged in hands-on activities, digital content creation, and collaborative projects. Key highlights included large-scale participation in creative competitions, organization of Media Arts Lab Open Day, execution of summer camps, and exposure through national and international platforms such as the XC Creative Art Contest, UN-linked campaigns, and Chennai Photo Biennale. These initiatives significantly enhanced student creativity, confidence, and real-world exposure.

Creative activities continued to emphasize theme-based learning aligned with the “6 Emotions” framework, allowing students to express their thoughts and feelings through various media formats. Students worked on developing storyboards, capturing photographs, and creating short visual narratives, strengthening both technical and creative skills.
Digital skill-building remained an important component, with students utilizing tools for design, editing, and content creation. Activities such as animation creation and visual storytelling enabled students to gain practical exposure to media production processes.
Overall, the program maintained a consistent focus on combining creativity with digital learning, ensuring that students remained engaged through interactive and participatory sessions.

Students contributed to recognized platforms such as the XC Creative Art Contest, where a total of 48 artworks were submitted, out of which 28 were shortlisted for the final round. This reflects strong student engagement and quality of creative output. Students also participated in global initiatives such as the Youth Visions of Peace Campaign, contributing photo stories aligned with international themes.
Additionally, selected works were submitted to platforms such as the Chennai Photo Biennale, providing opportunities for wider visibility and recognition. These engagements played a key role in building student confidence and encouraging them to present their work at broader levels.
