Support Media Literacy for Kids in Rural India

Another cohort of children from 5 schools around the Agastya Campus Creativity Lab began their journey into the world of media this quarter. The highlights from this quarter include: 

 School sessions:

•  The Cohort II, which began in December, had 203 unique children and 688 exposures from the schools L. Krishnapuram, Redlapalli, Sivaramapuram, Dandikuppam, and Royal School.

• Classes for Cohort I students and Cohort II students ran concurrently in December. The completion and improvement of the final productions was the primary objective of the sessions.

• 108 children from Cohort I schools in Kuppiganipalli, Kalavanchi, Yamiganipalli, and Kamasamudram received 652 exposures. These children created 45+ productions. Aha! Katha shall compile the productions.

• In addition to our regularly scheduled programs, we encouraged children for daylong visits to our lab. We were able to connect with 52 schools and 1,837 unique children. In this quarter, there were about 3,674 exposures.

  Kalakootami:

• Kalakootami was organized by the MediaArts team at Zilla Parishad High School, Balla, Andhra Pradesh. Children from schools in Kenchanaballa, Aniganur, Singasamudram and Balla, who took part in the MediaArts program last year attended the fair. Science corners were included in the event for the first time, along with Media, Art and Library activities.

• 2000+ children, 170 Young Instructors along with 96 teachers, and a few community members at the fair.
